Istanbul (Turkey). Common contrasts in Istanbul skyline, with the modern buildings that seem to “threaten” the old city. (1) In Besiktas, the minaret of the old Kaptan Ibrahimaga Cami and – in the background – the Polat Tower and the Selenium Towers. (2) The hill of Nisantasi with new big towers. (3) The skyline of Sultanahmet oppressed by houses and hotels. (4) Different styles merged together. (5) The new Istanbul grows close to the ancient walls.
